Strawberries and cream, crisp tennis whites and watching your favourite players viciously volley a ball between one another for hours on end; Wimbledon is about as British as a sporting event can get, and as it remains one of the most popular sporting events of the year, it’s well worth a look.

Though seeing the matches live is the ultimate dream, this quite simply isn’t always possibility, and the best alternative is to find somewhere summery to watch the matches, preferably with some good food and drinks to fuel the excitement. Already one of London’s most elegant eateries, the Courtyard Terrace at the restaurant has undergone a tennis themed transformation which will last the duration of Wimbledon, and which will see a selection of new cocktails and light bites being introduced into the al fresco area.

Lounge back and enjoy one of the new Wimbledon-themed cocktails which have been especially created for the event by bar manager Matt Sloper, and will inevitably have copious amounts of strawberries and champagne as part of their ingredients for that truly British feel. Perfect for toasting to the victory of your favourites, these cocktails are joined by a selection of light bites which will tantalise the taste buds from the start right until match point. Ample charcuterie boards make the perfect option for sharing, whilst a selection of oysters will delight even the most epicurean of tennis fanatics, all of which can be enjoyed in the serenity of the Edwardian courtyard. However for those who aren’t tempted by oysters and charcuterie, the full a la carte menu will also be available should you crave something different.

Huge screens will take pride of place in this new Wimbledon themed tennis, so no matter whether you’re a fan of seven- time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer or prefer to watch Maria Sharapova test her mettle against the Williams sisters, every match will be shown on the screens, keeping you up to date as the tournament unfolds.
A delightful dining area which has truly captured the essence of this summertime sporting event, the Wimbledon Terrace at the Holborn Dining Room is perhaps one of the most idyllic ways to view each match. The Wimbledon cocktail menu and festivities will be taking place from 23rd June – 12th July.

The Courtyard Terrace is open from : Monday – Friday 7am – 11:30pm, Saturday 8am – 11:30pm and Sunday 7am – 10:30pm. Bookings are available for lunch, however it is first come, first served in the evening.
