Jasmine Tookes Tries On the $3 Million Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra
When Jasmine Tookes walked out in the $3 million Bright Night Fantasy Bra and matching crystallized bodice, designed by Eddie Borgo, at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show fittings at the brand’s headquarters in New York this week, the room came to a complete halt.
“Wowwwwwwww!” screamed the show’s creative director, Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou, in her thick British accent. “Just look at how it shines. Isn’t it fabulous?”
Paris-based couturier Serkan Cura, who spent over 500 hours creating the stunning custom bodice made of more than 27,000 Swarovski crystals (emerald, white gold, and silver), stood a few steps behind her with a grin from ear to ear. The boss was very pleased.
“I love, love, love it,” said Tookes, 25, who will be walking in the November 30th show in Paris for her fifth time. “I can’t believe I get to wear this. I am going to cry when I have to take it off,” she said of the glittering silver and emerald green ensemble, which will be the final look in the runway spectacular.
Being the wearer of the Fantasy Bra is no easy task. The megawatt bra, which weighs more than 450 carats and features over 9,000 gemstones (“it’s definitely not lightweight”), and bodice were made specifically for Tookes. She had her full upper body plastered and sat in a chair for three hours while a mold was made. “I could barely breathe, I couldn’t even play with my phone or do anything,” she said.
Tookes now joins the elite ranks of Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, and Gisele Bundchen—all women she idolized growing up.
