For the first time, a gold finish is available as well as the silver and space gray

Available for the first time in gold, as well as the classic silver and space gray aluminum finishes, the all-new apple ‘macbook’ reinvents the notebook, delivering the thinnest and lightest mac to date. It weighs just 2 lbs (0.9kg) and is 13.1 mm thin – 24% slimmer than the 11-inch ‘macbook air’.

Boasting a 12-inch retina display, each pixel has a large aperture which makes it extremely efficient, using 30% less energy than existing screens, whilst providing high clarity and brightness. As well, the laptop features a highly responsive and comfortable full-size keyboard and an updated force touchpad, bringing a new level of interactivity to the user.

“Apple has reinvented the notebook with the new macbook, and at just two pounds and 13.1 mm, it’s the thinnest and lightest mac ever,’ said Philip Schiller, apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing. ‘Every component of the macbook reveals a new innovation. From its fanless design, ultra-thin retina display and full-size keyboard that’s 34 percent thinner, to its all-new force touch trackpad, versatile USB-C port and breakthrough terraced battery design, the new macbook is the future of the notebook.’

Inside the precision-milled unibody, the apple ‘macbook’s battery design provides 35% more capacity than previously, and maximizes every millimeter of space to deliver all-day power. It can be recharged via the same small, compact USB-C port that is used for data transfers and video out. Also integrated inside, the 802.11ac wi-fi and bluetooth 4.0 technology enables fast, wireless connectivity that is key to the mac’s versatile design.
