Rolls-Royce Put a Japanese Tea Garden in $1M Bespoke Phantom
Rolls-Royce has done it again, this time customizing a bespoke Phantom into a tranquil Japanese tea garden. Called Serenity, the $1 million auto’s exterior is painted a specially-mixed Mother of Pearl color that was polished for 12 hours, while the interior is swathed in a gorgeous handwoven upholstery that was made from 33 feet of hand-dyed silk. Covered in cherry blossoms that were hand-embroidered and hand-painted on the silk, each panel of the auto’s interior took a reported 600 hours to finish, taking the one-off Serenity Phantom into legitimate fine art territory.
“Continuing the theme of ultimate luxury, hand painted intricately weaved silks, Smoked Cherrywood with Bamboo cross banding and laser-cut, hand applied mother of pearl inlays combine to reinforce the rear compartment of Phantom as the most tranquil, beautiful place to be, a place where time and the outside world simply slip past,” – says the brand.
The front seats are treated with white leather, while the panels have pearl and ruby accents to finish off the overall look. Unfortunately, since the Serenity is a one-off design, it’s next to impossible to get your hands on one—unless you manage to get your hands on this one.
