Louis Vuitton Tambour Regatta - Luxury Retail
Louis Vuitton is participating in the Only Watch charity event for the fourth time, and for this edition it created a special Tambour Regatta Spin Time watch.
The one-off creation was developed in collaboration with young Paul Pettavino, who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and whose father Luc Pettavino is the president of the Monaco Association that fights against this disease.
As the auction’s purpose is to raise money to help fight this disease, Paul got involved into the design process and created the gold an enamel sailboat on the dial, as well as the painted LV Damier canvas of the trunk in which the timepiece is offered. They say that there is also a hidden message from the boy inside the watch.
Inside the 45.5mm x 16mm case made of rose gold there is the patented LV Tambour Spin Time mechanism based on rotating cubes that spin to tell the time. Each of the five red squares on the dial marks a five-minute increment of the total regatta time, with the first five minutes being indicated on the 12 o’clock subdial.
