Fondation Louis Vuitton will open on October 20 in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris.
Wrapped in a cloud of glass designed by architect Frank Gehry, to contemporary artistic creation will go. Bernard Arnault has decided to inaugurate this new art space just before the International Contemporary Art Fair will take place from 23 to 26 October in Paris.
On 18 December, Bernard Arnault placed symbolically stone the last terminating the construction of the building that will house the Foundation for Contemporary Art, and will submit a permanent collection and temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary international art.
The building designed by Frank Gehry meets the set of methods, codes and ways of expression by the famous architect, while representing a new stage in his career. In fact, it has revolutionized the use of glass to bring to life his vision of a light, bright and moving building, designed to integrate harmoniously in a park dating from the late nineteenth century to house his exceptional works of art .
This architectural challenge has already become part of the most iconic embodiments of the architecture of the XXI century. The building designed by Frank Gehry, revealing hitherto unseen ways, perfectly reflects the foundation of this project: unique, creative and innovative.
Created at the initiative of Bernard Arnault in 2006, Fondation Louis Vuitton falls within the scope of patronage of the arts and culture, the group has been supporting and developing for over twenty years.
