Dolce & Gabbana takes over Harrods’ festive shop window
Harrods unveils its very luxurious Christmas window display designed by Dolce & Gabbana as shoppers rush to spend millions at the iconic store over the festive period.
The Knightsbridge store enlisted Italian design duo Dolce & Gabbana, who are beloved by the Duchess of Cambridge, to dress the store in time for Christmas – and they brought their Italian flair to London.
A-list favourites Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana created 14 magnificent themes in the windows and dressed Sicilian puppets, glamorous dressing gown-donning mannequins and Italian influencers.
The walls have been adorned with retro wallpaper, Smeg fridges and traditional Italian fayre and food.
There’s plenty of colourful streamers, neon lights and champagne-sipping mannequins lining the windows. The designers have also curated a wall full of cuckoo clocks.
In addition to adorning the windows of the London landmark, designers Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce have installed an themed Italian market selling branded paraphernalia, including sweatbands embroidered with “D&G loves London” (from £70), T-shirts (from £285) and key fobs (£335). The duo have also created a capsule range of women’s and menswear (price on application) and opened a fine-jewellery pop-up boutique.
Speaking to the Evening Standard about the new display, Harrods Chief Merchant, Helen David, said:
‘Domenico and Stefano take us through their festive Italian Christmas via the exciting window displays that they have created for Harrods.
‘Our windows this Christmas will be alight with tradition, the love of family, and an all-around celebration of this special time of year with a hefty dose of fun and Italian spirit.’
